Hi Tom, I know what handles are. I’m doing what I’ve always been doing. Then suddenly the transition doesn’t work. Is it a setting?

Its all there, the video effect where I want the transition to occur and still nothing. It works when I go to the effect tab and do the effect but I wonder why the transition effect is not working in the canvas?

    Hi Paul,

Yes that’s what’s happening. FYI: I recorded a live performance and since the client wants unedited footage I just transfered all the material from the Sony Z1U to the FCP via firewire.

So when I “Capture Now” the whole tape footage ( video and audio), when its collected in the browser, it captures clips automatically but the captured clips are 2 frames off between EACH of them. So I have this whole set of clips captured and when I edit or connect each clip together in the timeline its looks jerky. Not good!

Anything else I do or any suggestions?

    Thank you so much,

    Hi tom,

I’m capturing a whole tape of HDV footage from my sony z1u to my mac. There’s nothing wrong with the time code on the tape. Just when I capture it, it makes a new clip each time and in the browser it shows it skiped 2 frames. So when I edit or connect each clip to the timeline I can’t because of the 2 frames being off. It looks noticeabe like I pasted something. I went thru the FCP manual and did everything I could but its still there. So what’s up?

    Thank you for your time,

time code on the camera & log and capture window are in sync.

But the video and audio are out of sync in the log and capture window. I haven’t recorded anything yet i’m just playing thru the camera.

the video is out of sync everything else is fine.

Its when I play it from my camera to the FCP before I do anything. so in the log and capture window, time code & meters are fine but the video is a few frames off.

The time code in the log and capture window and the time code on my camera is correct and in sync but in the log and capture viewer its NOT in sync its a few frames off. It was working fine yesterday. Now its not. What did I do? How do I solve this?
