insert transition doesn’t work?
I have FCP 5. When I drag a clip from the viewer to the canvas and insert “with transition” for some reason the effect does not happen? It doesn’t happen either when I do it for the overwrite “with transition” as well. What to do???????????

is their plenty of handles? (at least a second of head and tail you are not showing?)

Its all there, the video effect where I want the transition to occur and still nothing. It works when I go to the effect tab and do the effect but I wonder why the transition effect is not working in the canvas?

Please confirm that you understand what handles are and that you have them on the clips to which you are trying to apply the transition.

Hi Tom, I know what handles are. I’m doing what I’ve always been doing. Then suddenly the transition doesn’t work. Is it a setting?
