thanks for all of the great post!

I understand the progressive scan mode in the camera but wouldn’t I be throwing away half the information if I edit in a interlaced mode? shouldn’t I take the advice of JeremyG and modify a regular DV-NTSC 29.97i to no interlacing?

I have a MacBook, 2 Ghz Intel Core Duo, 1 GB SDRAM, so from the looks of the Apple recommendations i should be able to play back a 1280×720 (720p) video at 24-30 frames per second out to a VGA cable and monitor?

the more that I read the more using H.264 makes sense. I should have done that from the start.

    my settings are:
    720p
    59.94fps
    10.25Mbps
    frame controls Off

should I make frame controls Custom just to make sure i am not shrinking anything? should I also increase the Bit Rate since I can send more info via the laptop?

OK I am understanding the screen idea but I am still a little confused about the resolution. Would placing two SD 720i images into a 1080i HD template and playing it back on a HD player to a result in a better image qaulity then shrinking down the two videos to fit into a 720i screen and playing it on a SD player.

If the screen resolution of the monitor doesn’t matter, then my fooling around with the two SD videos and putting them into a HD template will not make the image and better or worse? Is that correct?
