    Brain,

Does Vimeo Pro allow you to post for a client and limit views? Wonder if this would be an alternative to ftp upload and download.

    Thanks,

    Brad,

Thank you for asking the question I was wondering about. Just curious, if people think that it will become necessary to author and burn blue-ray, and I might be missing something but DVD studio pro can’t do that. I know you can burn a blue ray from FCP, but that doesn’t give the menu and look needed.

I would welcome other peoples thoughts.

October 20, 2011 at 7:01 pm in reply to: FCP pulling old render files

This had been happening not in just one project but a number of projects. (ie the reason I did not include video codec and sequence settings). In talking with a FCP expert here is what our best guess at the problem has been.

Because some projects had been edited using Sony xdcam raw files. Our system was being over worked trying to adjust/ process on the fly. When a sequence was started and it asked to conform sequence to footage I said yes. That resulted in the more than occasional unexpected quit, when that happened some metadata did not get written, so while a project would look fine on re open and restore, on out-put it would refer to an earlier render file.

    So here is our solution.

    1. Full delete of render files, and “all of our fav” trashed the preferences.

    2. All footage is now imported, batched, and edited in pro-res 422 (sometimes HQ) sometimes regular.

Thank you all for insight and help.

Thanks, I appreciate your help. I certianly will do that. Unfortunately, that was not the problem. I think I might have a mojo that needs to be replaced. The footage when set correctly with scopes for component batch capture, would get hotter and hotter while it was being captured. Today I ran into a problem with it no longer putting our 21st line of video (close captioning) to tape. The cc is in the preview window fine, it is in the program window fine, and does not show up on tape. I ruled out a deck issue because cc does show up from the deck to the monitor on other tapes. So are there evil editing spirits? Maybe that is the issue.

I probably wasn’t clear in my first post. The original footage is fine, but when it batches in it blasts out, and if you edit and put that footage to tape it is still blasted out. I checked the original footage on external scopes and it is fine. Using the scopes that are built into the system on the batched footage it is peaked out. I contacted avid support they told me to post the question on a forum….
