Would love some feed back and insite on this issue. I need to create a dvd to promo a new website that a client has. The majority of the dvd will be shots from the website. I know I can screen capture but the quality is marginal at best when it gets into FCP. I am sure there are those out there that have done this very successfully. I would love some insite, software suggetions, anything.

    Thanks

We’ve had success shooting off of a laptop screen, in a dark shooting space. Just watch out for any Moire effects. This way you can see the mouse cursor if needed.

You can save any webpage as a PDF file.

In Safari (or other web browser) File/Print/PDF (lower left side of dialog box)/Save as PDF.

Open in Photoshop. You will get a rasterize dialog. Make the dimensions much larger than your video frame size, if you wish to do “Ken Burns” type moves. Be sure to change the mode from its default CMYK to RGB.

Save as a Pict or Tiff file. Avoid JPEG if you want better quality.

[Dave LaRonde] “I have had great success using OSX’s Grab software, animating the grabs in After Effects, and rendering for use in FCP. The quality is great.”

Me too!!! I’m very discriminating, and it works really well for me…

There’s also SnapzProX. Many companies that produce computer training use this to capture what’s happening on the screen.

    Google it!
