Well looks like we were in the right ball park then. I have a fujinon 1.6 – 4.5 77 mm on the camera. I feel like they owe me a new camera or something. It’s hard to deal with this problem especially since it’s not noticeable in the viewfinder when recording. Only in playback. I’ve had to re-shoot a few things and when it first let me down it was in a concert situation where light was hard and I couldn’t use the shot at all.
I haven’t heard much about this problem but we can’t be the only ones out there.

Please help. I need some advice here. These cameras are new to me and I don’t know my way around the features quite yet. Thanks.

Scott, I’m having a similar problem. At first I thought my back focus was out but that turned out to not be the case. I notice that it’s not showing the problem on the viewfinder but in the sdi output and the recorded media on the p2 cards.
I’ve noticed that the problem usually clears up when I go up on the ND filters. I had a commencement shoot last weekend with a few 170s and a 370. It was in the morning so ND filter 2 was sufficient. As the ceremony went on and the sun started showing it self a little more the image starting getting fuzzy. I was TD and could see it on the monitors. I told the camera operator to switch the ND filter to 3 rather than 2 and it sharpened up. I mainly have the problem when I’m outside in the sun but it seems fine when I’m shooting concerts with nice lighting.
Here is some concert footage used with the 370 https://www.youtube.com/user/LUMLEY75?feature=mhee

I actually did that just after I posted this. That helped a lot but I was wondering if there was a way to merge all the clips into one prior to ingesting them into fcp. Thanks for the help though. I’ve since got them in order at least and exported them as a quicktime file. That works for now.

how do I print to the HPM110 via firewire from FCP? I can’t seem to get it connected.

Thanks, I got it all figured out yesterday doing what you said here but unfortunately the video files are still corrupt.

    Mark,

I need to do what you describe here. I recorded some 720 24PN footage on my firestore in P2 mode. The clips were long and says they are spanned in my transfer window in FCP. They will not transfer. FCP gives an unknown error. I speculate it’s a P2 thing. Focus Enhancements told me to record the footage back to a p2 card on the HVX 100. I started to do that but it will take way too long since I need the P2 cards for other shoots.

How did you hook up the firestore to capture live with FCP. I can’t seem to figure out the combination. What’s the settings?
    Thanks,
    Stacey

I think Pauls suggestion worked. Ahh the things I didn’t learn in FCP training.

    Thanks Paul!

But the funny thing is this: After I put the motion and filters on the clip. I then go and copy that same clip and then delete the motion and then paste back the motion atributes and it works fine.
