The GoPro is totally horrible. I returned it already. I just used it for the underwater capabilities. I didn’t try After Effects yet but I am going to give it a whirl. I am still a little novice at that program so any advice you can give would really help me out.

That link helped out a ton. I got it. I knew there was some sort of settings inside Final Cut Pro. I always used Express and it wasn’t HD so it was all set up for default film size. I just hand to change my input to 1080i. Awesome. Thanks.

It’s definitely on VTR mode. Even if it was on regular camera mode, it should still register some sort of video. I have done that before with my other camera. My other camera works with Final Cut Express but doesn’t work with Final Cut Pro. I have been editing for years but this camcorder just doesn’t seem to want to connect. I got the controls for the camcorder to come up on Final Cut Pro but it doesn’t register the video or audio and I still can’t batch capture. I can control the camcorder with my mouse but that’s about it. I have not done High Def at all. This is my first time. Could this be why? Do I need a special 1080i to firewire 800 cable because there is a 1080i output on the HDV/DV outputs on the camera.
