With respect, your “suck it up time” is insignificant compared to the effort that developers have to put in to adapt to whatever curve balls Apple decide to send down.
All of us here are used to having to adapt to changes in the applications that we use, but developers have a much more arduous job.
It’s frustrating to have to run to stay in the same place, which is what adapting to OS changes involves most of the time.
The chances are that Adobe would be doing much more interesting work if they didn’t have to dodge and weave to accommodate the latest Apple whim.
At times, you wonder if Apple don’t deliberately make it difficult for the opposition … or is that too cynical?

Adobe and others expend huge amounts of development time trying to keep abreast of the vagaries of Apple’s OS updates.
I use vagaries as a euphemism there.

Try it this different way rather than using opacity
Make a Clone of any one of the items you want to use for your rig.
Publish the Clone to a dropdown menu.
For each version that you want in your dropdown, drag the new item into the Clone source well.
Very quick, very easy, very powerful.
Much better than wasting time with opacity.

“Checking out” isn’t really the right term to use for the AVID method as it implies a barrier to the process which isn’t there in practice.
Bins get changed all the time, not least because they contain the sequences you and others are cutting, but also they change because they are acquiring new media as the project progresses.

Yes, I would agree with this. I thought you were implying that there was something about the way that FCP X handles metadata that facilitated a future sharing process – rather than that it was an obstacle to it.

Yes, this is correct.
I see Teams (and Anywhere) as a way of up-selling Team/Enterprise accounts from Adobe’s standpoint. I’m far from convinced that they are prioritising the end user.
