I used to send customers .wmv files of the end product for their final approval, but always got a problem with the fact that they would send it around every office so that everybody at the business would be able to give their 2 cents. Of course, everybody wanted to impress the boss with their input, and the changes started to get totally unreasonable.
Nowadays, I invite the client to come and sit in the edit suite with me, and view the finished product there. They are always impressed by the atmosphere, technology etc, and are more complient to your advice and explanations. They have ONE chance to make any changes, and one chance only. Thats for free, and written in the contract.
After the master is delivered, any changes are billed at a normal daily rate.

Suppose its cause I have been using QT animation for years before I touched an Avid. Anyway, I produce commercials, and the time for a 20 sec spot to import is not so bad.

I use the same workflow as you, except I always use QT references out of the Avid, then render out of After Effects as QT with Animation at the best settings. After the project is finished and ready to be backed up, throw away the rendered QTs. Super good quality right down the line, and no disk space issues. Works for me.

Hmmmm, and another thing. How do I tweak it so the decoder goes quicker? For instance over a second the number changes 20 times. Can I make it so it changes 50 times over the same period of time?
    thanks for your time

Also, a good idea is to add a directional blur, 0 degrees and 0.5 pixel to this final adjustment layer. it takes away any flimmer in diagonal lines or text.
