Hi all, firstly, thank you for the assistance and suggestions. I’m pleased with the result and so’s the client. The shot can be seen at around the 34 second mark. Thanks again for all your help.

    Kindest regards

I don’t think that I’ll need to see the content through the droplet, so only the front face would need to be created. The moving images won’t need to be seen behind the droplet but they will need to look like they’re disappearing behind it around one side, with other images appearing from the other side. I’m a bit unsure how to apply a matrix in this case. I can see why tracking the droplet makes sense as it would ensure that whatever layer is above it conforms to the appropriate position, but I’m not sure how to apply a semi 3d layer over the top, nor how to have a still image move over it. Sorry for sounding a bit backwards.

I am using QT 10, but that’s just at my end. If I really need to see things better then I can play through VLC, but the files I’m making are being viewed by other people on an assortment of computers with no understanding of adjusting gamma, so I have to assume that their versions will be on default settings. Is there any way to make my AE outputs appear closer to what can be viewed by quicktime?

Unfortunately for me, the budget for this doesn’t include me buying and learning a 3d program from scratch, as nice as that would be. Are there any options left within AE? It seems like I might have to cheat with the interiors with artificial versions of whatever backgrounds get decided on. It’s not the end of the world, but it is a pain in the arse as it’ll have to be unique for each of a long list of bottles. I’m afraid that distortion maps are well out of the realm of my limited understanding.
