Yes it is really annoying.. I am working on making a new workstation but I cant decide what to do because getting an intel i9 or Threadripper would be great for virtually every other program/task. (3D modeling, rendering etc.) But this would actually be worse for AE in comparison to a simple i7. This is unnaceptable IMO.
I thought adobe was made for professionals. but it does not even properly utilize pro hardware. Yet it aims to higherclockspeed mid range hardware.

I really really hope Adobe would get multithreading/multi core optimalization going as this would change everything for high end professionals.
    considering switching to nuke/fusion ATM.

Thanks! I will give this a try. Well, its not just youtube. Also for live in-studio viewings for presentations etc. where we do want to deliver as little compression as possible in 4K (UHD resolution) @ 96 KhZ lossless audio.

Right! Well I am now working for just over 2 years and I have to deal with it haha! Really high end production job.

What codec is recommended for 96kHz audio? I cant seem to get it to work on DNxHD. And since im on a PC I have a hard time getting Apple ProRes to work.

  • You saved my day! Thanks so much!

Awesome! We’re a step in the right direction. it follows the object nicely. But its offset a bit wrong (say 400 px in x and 600 px in Y) How do I adjest this? (I have difficulty adding the 2 dimension expression in in there.) Adding a simple +400 works. but only for the X axis. How do I Adjust the Y axis too? Thanks for your help so far, you are the man!

My bad. What you are describing is exactly the case. I do have the flare on a comp size solid. And wanted to parent the flare position
this is the L=effect(“Optical Flares”)(“Position XY”); in my exppression. I will give you expression a shot with the .toComp instead of .toWorld.

I get what you’re saying.. But you are talking about A gap. I am talking about 100+ gaps. I am not going to manually select and delete 100+ gaps. That takes way too much time!

    Okay I found a solution*

I just gave every layer of priority a different color label via right clicking – selecting label.

Then dragged all the clips to one layer. Added an adjustment layer on top. (layer above) And draged all the clipt over it and then back down Making the adjustment layer only visible where the gaps are. I then selected all the parts of the adjustment layer and right clicked – Ripple delete.

Then selected a single clip of a specific color and right clicked – label – select label group … to select all clips of that specific color label and dragged them back te their corresponding track.

    BAM!

Although I must say this is quite a hassle… Adobe thould make this simple feature available with a button.
