October 31, 2010 at 10:22 am in reply to: Contrast and color saturation way too heavy when viewing the movie in FCP:Thanks! Yes I am aware of the possibilites to adjust color and contrast within FCP of the CLIP/Video itself, but why on earth is there no setting to adjust the gamma for the application itself (FCP)? And why is there a mismatch of gamma in the first place? Why could they not just have the same gamma for the finder QT and FCP?
Anyway I understand I have to buy a another box to fix this. But would a calibrated monitor like Eizo SX2761 which is mostly for Photoshop working (stills) be good enough in a combo with for example MATROX MXO2 MINI?
I still have much to learn ….. 🙂

October 31, 2010 at 9:16 am in reply to: Contrast and color saturation way too heavy when viewing the movie in FCP:Thanks. This seems to be a major flaw in Final Cut! The clips looks neutral when played from finder (hitting the space bar), but totally different in Final Cut Pro. So will something like a MATROX MXO2 MINI solve this? Or do you have to be a professor of color even after buying this for setting it it up? I cant believe there are not any settings in FCP to adjust gamma or color saturation?

October 30, 2010 at 11:38 pm in reply to: How to lock a clip in the timeline (to maintain sync with for example the musick track)?Hi Tom and thanks. That sound logical. Is that the same as holding the option key when dragging the clip down to the timeline?

October 30, 2010 at 11:37 pm in reply to: How to lock a clip in the timeline (to maintain sync with for example the musick track)?Hi Rob. No that was not my question. Rather like editing a music video and then having the music track on the bottom and then having to sync up the clips of video to the music or beat, then sometimes video are out of sync after doing editing afterwards due to incorrect editing technique.

October 30, 2010 at 1:14 pm in reply to: View Quality in Final Cut Pro 6.06 (looks reduced and choppy):The timeline settings are Safe render and view quality = high, but I think there was an error when I dragged the first clip into the project as the clip settings probably was not received properly.

October 27, 2010 at 8:45 pm in reply to: Which codec to choose for a music video edit with this setup? Thanks again. A RAID 0 enclosure? Does that mean an esata connected box with several drives chained as one drive? Is the point having one drive pr. video stream?

July 9, 2010 at 11:28 pm in reply to: How to format a Lacie Drive 1GT Esata External for Final Cut P?I got this advice from a helpful person, comments?:
To avoid permissions issues on the drives that you will be using for video, do the following:
•Right click the drive’s icon on the Desktop or in the Finder’s sidebar and choose Get Info.
•Go to the bottom of the Get Info window and click the triangle next to Sharing and Permissions to open that section.
•Click the lock and authenticate with an Administrator User name and password.
•Activate the checkbox for Ignore ownership on this volume.I still have much to learn ….. 🙂
