Duplicate frames eh? I’ve never heard of this issue. But you mean to say I’ve got to hunt through my machine and open ALL FCP projects to turn it off? Yikes.

Incidentally, I am running operating system 10.3.9 and have Quicktime 7.2.0 installed.

While all suites are connect via internet, we have no server of any sort and transfer footage out only via external hard drive and tape.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

I feared I may have to dig deeper. The answer is never something easy eh?

Although I should mention that our computers aren’t networked at all. So no workgroup or anything of that nature. Yes, we’re really that behind the times.

    Hey Jon:

Thanks for the help. Your plan worked perfectly. Just one more question. I am using an older version of Zaxwerks that doesn’t have primitives. So I am using a tiny circle in Illustrator to create a sphere. I’m trying to make it look like a baseball. I have a square shape that has baseball stiches on it. When I map it onto the sphere, it distorts and doesn’t really wrap around properly. You can see the seams of the ‘wallpaper’ where it joins. It’s gonna fly by pretty quickly so it doesn’t have to look perfect but is there a better way of doing this? Thanks again,

    Hey Jon:

Thanks for the reply. I think I was physically moving my whole comp, resulting in the edges being cut off. I tried it again and it seems to be working much better now. One other quick question. What’s the best way of adding a 2d element to a logo? I am trying to make a poker chip with numbers on them. I am wondering how to make the numbers without adding them in the original Illustrator file. (Because then I have to move the axis of the number to push it out from the chip and it’s suddenly a 3D shape, something I don’t want in this case.) Am I going to have to make some sort of a texture map? That should be all my questions for now. Thanks again,

    Hey guys:

Thank you both for the help. You’ve got me on the right track now! Serge, I appreciate the AE file and the Illustrator file as this was exactly what I was looking for. The AE file doesn’t open properly cause I think you’re using a more recent version of Zaxwerks. I am using Pro 3.0.4. Nevertheless, I should be able to play around with the Illustrator file you sent me to get something that’s workable.

    Thanks again!

Lito must be busy or have forgotten about us. 😉
If anyone else out there has created this file, you stand to make a lot of people happy. I attempted it myself but gave up in frustration. Anyone else?

The final result quicktime looks very cool. This is exactly what I have been looking for. I can follow all of the steps with relative ease until that last one. Suddenly there are 8 unexplained layers with flashes, flares and keyframes galore. Is there an easier way to decipher what’s happening in the last step or should I abandon all hope? I’m still a relative newcomer to After Effects.

    Hey John:

Hmmm… I managed to get it to work by rendering out as lossless with alpha. Is that an optimum quality to export to? It needs to be broadcast quality and usable in final cut pro. Would I be better off outputting to a targa file? That is one file format I know nothing about. Thanks for your input.
