I know how to capture! there is interlacing happening only in fcp not in imovie…and the video is going static in between…

Thats not a solution…basically we need to capture content that has been recorded on a dvd recorder…and its 30-40 hours of video to go through…so mpeg streamclip wont work…

Do you think Photo jpg can be used for converting to mpeg2 broadcast or any file for the future??

Yes…I would like to retrieve good quality at any point…I tested out few codecs and so far QuickTime with photo jpg seems like the right balance for quality and size…
