In what way are you connecting to it?
What are you capture settings?

Put the disc in the comp and rip it:

Thats not a solution…basically we need to capture content that has been recorded on a dvd recorder…and its 30-40 hours of video to go through…so mpeg streamclip wont work…

If your DVD recorder is making interlaced then you might need to capture interlaced.

I know how to capture! there is interlacing happening only in fcp not in imovie…and the video is going static in between…
