  • Thanks Nate – what’s that model #?

  • Thanks Nate – I’ve been reading some of them already. Saw yours about that monitor (the price is great)

is a computer monitor like that good for NTSC and HD?
Will one of the new LCDs or cheaper Plasmas TVs work?

Can get a much bigger screen for not a lot more money. Seems like a bigger WOW factor for clients.

    Thanks for your help

    Thank you,

I know all of us really appreciate what you guys do

    Merry Christmas!

  • Thanks to All!

I’m working on it but I can’t get FCPro to see my camera!

It has once but now it doesn’t.

The computer sees it but FCPro doesn’t – If you know what’s causing this please let me know.

    Thanks again,
    Shawn

    Thanks for checking in –
come to find out, it was actually the cables going from the Betacam deck to the monitor.

    Thanks again.

    Thanks,

I saw it right after I posted.

Of course if you buy this close it may be a free upgrade.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks guys,

I usually do uncompressed or Blackmagic 10bit (that’s another question)

So that means I should place audio on my internal drive I guess.

Might help my RT performance because it’s basically non-existent.

Where do you keep motion renders and things like stills, targas, avis, or quicktimes with alpha?

    Thanks Guys,

A compositing program that can’t do variable speed. That’s a real weakness.

    Thanks again.

    Thanks Guys for your input.

I wrestled with Apple’s and Seritek’s people with this for about a day and a half.

Then a good guy at Apple mentioned DiscWarrior. $90 bucks and the problem was solved in about 30 minutes with only a few clips lost.

    what a relief!

  • Thanks Guys-

In this business you never know what you’ll be doing – but I mainly need it for logos, intros, etc.
I want to be able to do the type of effects on ESPN or something like that – mixing 3d elements and anims with 2d, etc. Pretty vague, huh.

    Thanks again.

I’ve heard about Hash but don’t know if it can handle those type of things with ease. I would like one that will be able to load a lot of formats, etc.
How about Carrara 4 or Maxon’s title? Any input is appreciated.
