That testy video just hurts.

An example of a project we are editing on FCPX. Keep in mind that our audience is K-8. We turn these around in two days. Shot with the 370.

I was a little confused about the way this topic went. I am pretty sure that I mentioned image stabilization, not rolling shutter. Maybe b-roll means something different to Rafael?

We are using FCS7 and FCPX here at the station. One editor jumped in both feet a few months ago–X is really starting to work for him on our short projects. He states that the speed is a welcome advantage. Not sure I would want to tackle a music video or full length TV show with this version of X. We are giving X a year to mature a little before we make a decision that we do not need make at this moment.

Not sure why this simple post turned South, but I would still like to credit a few awesome programmers. If every shoot was perfect, life would be boring. My crew is anything but lazy–they are amazing and adaptable. My clients are diverse and wonderful. The $300.00 version of FCPX saved our project. We will remember to use all the manual settings when employing our Cinealta and Panasonic 370’s. 😉 After more than a simple exploration, I am starting to like this little ship … she’s exciting!

Not sure where you are going with this??? We didn’t need to fix the shutter.

The shaky b-roll was due to a few factors:
Was VERY dusty. Didn’t wan’t to use the Sony-F350’s, so we used our cheaper and smaller JVC GY-HM100U.
Homeland Security issues.
We were not allowed to move closer.
We were not allowed tripods.
The producer interfered with many of the shots due to security concerns.
Shot in nine locations in under 4.5 hours.

Camera:
HQ Mode, 1920 x 1080 (35 Mbps)
1080/30p
Full auto due to time limitations

Edit:
Video was not optimized
Video/audio analyzed on import
27 shots were stabilized
Finished video was 7:00
