still a long workaround for something that should not happen in the first place. I rally hate that I have to use this software, so many issues with it compared to it’s predecessor and other contemporaries but a necessary evil for me.

no backup or anti virus software no. I could do what you are saying but if it is just deleting the prefs from the system Library folder then I have done that. if you are suggesting completely removing FCPX and reinstalling it I could do that
