Well if you say so I’ll take the game. But I am still unsure that without any acceleration card such as MATROX RTX2 Series, my laptop will handle 720progressive 24fps video.

    Thanks for the help.

I have DELL STUDIO 15 wit INTEL CORE 2DUO 2.03 GHZ, 4GB RAM, 250 GB SATA 7200 RPM, 512MB VIDEO MEMORY ATI RADEON and that’s about it.

Is it possible to edit in full resolution 24fps720p footage or even render it.

Well you are right the cost is not much if its storage that matters. Now I don’t have a Blackmagic or an Arora with me, neither do I have a very powerful processor and getting all this means spending a lot which I don’t have. I am a film student just got out of the institute and wish to make a short film.

So I thought of editing proxies and just exporting the project on better system to prevent all the above written charges as I’ll be spending some amount on lights, camera and grips too.

Help still needed. Question is still out there.

Thankyou very much Hewitt. This means that its ONLY OMFI what matters to Avid my master .avi files have nothing to do with it.Also sir if i capture footage via different application and then import it into Avid Xpress ProHD then will there be a quality loss.

Also sir this means that OMFI will be the master files after i capture them in to AVID.

Also i would like to appreciate this community where students like are able to clear their doubts with such great professionals..
