QMaster stopped working in 10.9. But it’s not needed to use Compressor or make a DVD. Just needs to be disabled. Not sure why FCP is giving that error. I always output a full res file, and then take that into compressor. Are you SENDING TO?

It’s not an Adobe issue, it’s an issue with the various players and web browsers and websites.

YouTube on Safari will look different than YouTube on Firefox, and Chrome. And they will look different than QT Player, which looks different than VLC. And then people’s monitors connected to their computers are all calibrated differently, and will display the image differently. These are things you cannot control. Just like you cannot control how people have their monitors set up, or what browser they use.
Go to Best Buy and look at all the TVs…computer monitors. They all show the same video slightly different. There is nothing you can do about that. Make it look good on a properly calibrated monitor, but once you let it out into the wild, there’s nothing you can do.

As for Premiere Pro, you don’t need to round trip anything. Just do the move in Premiere. Ease in and Out are there.

Don’t choose MPEG-4…choose H.264. That get’s compressed out as an mp4…and that’s what you want.

Are you SURE it’s 59.94fps? And not listed as “1080i59.94?” Because 1080i59.94 runs at 29.97fps. The “i” indicates interlaced, and the number after that indicates number of images. Interlaced video has two fields per frame, so 60 images per second, running at 29.97fps.
If it says 1080p59.94 or 720p59.94, then it is 60fps.

Yes, it was used on Season 1 with some fanfare. I guess they stuck with it to the end because, well, it worked, and the editors knew it. Very “Avid” mentality.
I too have an older machine with and older OS and FCP 7, for the clients who keep using it. But in my mind, it’s been DOA for nearly 7 years..

As someone who has graded 10 docs in Resolve that were cut in FCX, I concur with what Oliver said. When you grade the footage, the only way to get that grade applied and sent back is to render it out as a new clip. This is true of ANY color grading done outside FCX. The apps can’t just send the information that then applies to the media in FCX…the only way to do that would be to grade in FCX.
But yes, any re-editing you do will then have to be resent to Resolve. This is why color grading is, as Oliver said, the last step in the process.

How can a Terranex require an OS version? It’s an in-between box, is it not? Or does the newest one now connect to the computer like a capture card?
And yes…you are WELL advised to get a new drive or partition with the newer OS. Newer OS versions and older software don’t always mesh well.

Don’t use the MM. Drag and drop on the finder level. Although yeah, you will have to relink that way.
