So image quality must be the same in the tape recorded in the AJHD1200A deck from fcp as the original tape recorded in Varicam eaven if it has double duration?

I merged the clips using in points, and audio clips are longer than the video clip, so the audio missing in the merged clip exists.

What I want to do is link the material toghether to create some kind of independient new clip with audio and video in sync. Is that posible to do without having to export and import a quicktime movie (made of syncronized audio an video in the timeline) ?

Have you ever tried to export a “sync secuence” as a quick time movie and then import that as an audio/video clip? This can be a good solution?

Welcome to the HDV world.
I think the best and the simpliest thing to do is to change your compressor codec in the secuence settings from HDV 1080i… to the apple intermediate codec. The problem is that you will have to re-render all the secuence again, but after that everything is going to work just fine. Larry Jordan told me that.
