audio and video from diferent sources
Posted by Sergio Deustua on February 17, 2006 at 5:09 pmWhat is the best edit workflow method when audio and video are not in one single clip but in two, because they came from diferent souces (camera and dat)?

February 17, 2006 at 5:35 pmThat’s kind of hard to answer. What are you trying to do? Link the material together? You can link the clips or merge the clips. You can also edit them as independent items in the Timeline.
All the best,

February 21, 2006 at 11:18 amWhat I want to do is link the material toghether to create some kind of independient new clip with audio and video in sync. Is that posible to do without having to export and import a quicktime movie (made of syncronized audio an video in the timeline) ?
Thanks -

Yes you can merge clips. Make In points on the video and audio, or if you have matched timeccode, use the timecode, and merge the clips. This function isn’t available in FCE.
If there is no obvious sync point that you can mark an In point to like a clapperboard, put the two shots in the timeline, line them up in sync. Trim the shots if there is extra video or audio and then link them together. Take the linked clips back into the browser and use as clips.
All the best,
Tom
