i contact aja and they said this about HD formats and HDCAM SR…

The Io HD supports both 1080p24 and 1080pSF24 and is compatible with a HDCAM SR.
    Other video formats include: 1080pSF/p23.98, 1080pSF/p24, 1080i/pSF/p25, 1080i/pSF/p29.97, 1080i/pSF/p30, 720p varicam (all rates), 720p50/59.94/60, NTSC 525 and PAL 625.
Note: The HDMI video standard does not support 1080pSF23.98 or 1080pSF24 video formats.

    so it fits for me…

    thanks all

It’s a good point. shoot 25p is an option. but 25p isnt available.
so what about capturing interlaced and software deinterlacing in FC. how it works for a feature film. is this a quality issue or not… i’m finishing a film with SI-2k 24p (the DoP choose this option instead of 25p like i propose) but it’s already data so no compromisses at this point.
i have another type of problems with this RAW footage. The most of it was about workflow.

So i want to be ready with my Video Assist/Master Capture Option If this people using the ARRI d-20 whant to shoot 24p too.

i’m already making research for tech info about PSF and Progressive. and 23.98/24 timecode also… before i order my IOHD…

    thank you very much JG…

    i m back
    good insert, Mr Sacci!

i continue with my point and tech doubts

i read the ajaioHD manual and nothing about 1080 24p capture… and film frame rates

i found output throgh HDMI 1080p23.98, 1080p24, 1080p25, 1080p29.97, and 1080p30 (no support for this through HDMI input, but no need)

i ve only found an easy setup for FCP 1080 23.98psf…i believe thats the format recorded from ex1.
but i doubt capturing with this format for 24p material from the arri-20 / hd cam SR setup.
will be the timecode accurate with the tape recorded?

certaninly i doesnt understand well enoguh the segmented frame issue…

    thanks both for your posts
and sorry for my gauchos english

is possible to capture HD via intensity pro analog component inputs?

if no prores 422 avaliable, what codecs are?

i heard apple guys said that you can capture prores 422 in the fly only if you have a macpro and not with old g5

  • Thanks jeremy. And yes i am in Bs As. I will sent your love to those things, in fact i do it on my own every week.

I was thinking of buying the HVX200 and in the near future the IO HD. I expect to work mostly in a complete Pro res HQ workflow and then masterize in tape renting an HD deck (dvc pro HD / hd cam / hdv ) through the IO HD outputs or directly to an HD-DVD

in fact now i am thinking about the JVC PRO HD cam series. In this way i skip the poor HDV compression.

    saludos…

    sebastian.

  • I HAVE A QUESTION…
IT WILL BE POSSIBLE TO CAPTURE LIVE INTO THE HD ANALOG COMPONENT OF THE AJA IO HD FROM THE ANALOG HD OUT OF A PANASONIC HVX200? OR THIS IS ONLY POSSIBLE WITH HD SDI OUTPUT LIKE THE CANON H1…
I MEAN USING THE PRO RES HQ CODEC AND GET THIS FILES IN THE HD OF A MACBOOK PRO…. WATH IS THE FRAME SIZE IN THIS CASE?

SORRY ABOUT MY POOR ENGLISH… I AM WRITING FROM ARGENTINA…
