I just installed the intensity pro card into my 8core mac. I updated the firmware, etc. when I try to install the software on the disc it says there is a newer version on my system so I obviously stop the installation because I’m assuming I should have the latest version, right?

2nd question… I’m assuming I use the “black magic media express” app to capture? I want to capture HDV from my sony V1 through component. (I don’t have an hdmi cable handy). But it is not recognizing that my camera is connected. 🙁

3rd question… I know it isn’t recommended, but the reason why I got this card was because it’s supposed to support capture in prores422. I have a hard time working w/hdv so I want to use the 422 codec instead. while in the preferences of the media express app, i see where you choose where the media is going to go and the codec, etc. but there is no choice for 422. yikes!

Am I going about this all wrong? The manual to this thing isn’t a manual at all… and this is one of those times I’d like to read one. 🙁

It may be pointing to the Apple codecs which might be newer than the ones we have on our install discs. This happens when the driver update we issue comes before Apple issues an update via Software Update on the Mac. You should still carry on with the install as we will not over write the new codecs.

Are you getting the “No Video Input” message? If so, check that you’ve switched the video input of the card to analog component via System Preferences > Intensity.

ProRes is distributed by Apple and will be installed when you install Final Cut Pro.

    Thanks Kristian,

It’s frustrating when there is no manual!!! (well there is, but it’s super limited). So I installed everything and switched it in system prefs, but there is still no option to capture in prores422 in the prefs. I am running FCS2 so the 422 codec should be there. 🙁

    I am confussed about this:
i didn’t found metions about analog HD inputs capabilties.

is possible to capture HD via intensity pro analog component inputs?

if no prores 422 avaliable, what codecs are?

i heard apple guys said that you can capture prores 422 in the fly only if you have a macpro and not with old g5

    sorry about my english…
