I finally got SMB signaling turned off and it made a huge difference.
I purchased a Solarflare 10gE card, some fiber optic transceivers, and a set of Seagate Barracuda 4TB drives.
This is what I’m getting now with SMB:
Is there something intrinsically wrong with iSCSI with a single user?

I’m currently just using just one Mac Pro’s 1Gb ethernet port. I’m looking into 10GbE.
I did know this was the “bottom-of-the-barrel” going in. Like I said, i’m just learning how to set one up. If it replaces the eSATA RAID I currently use, that will be great. Otherwise it will just be NAS storage, and that’s good too.
With Blackmagic’s Speed Test, I’m getting 105MB/s Write and 95MB/s Read. Seems pretty much in line with what can be expected.

Ah… I thought Quantel was reduced to just color. I see Rio is an editor as well.
I noted that eQ-iQ was gone, and I assumed that they were out of the editing game. -
Just like phones with buttons, every edit system that came with tactile controls are now gone…

Several solutions…
You could get a USB to SCSI cable ~$30 and then find the necessary cables to get to the Centronics 50pin.
With said USB adaptor, take the drive out of the case and find a different cable to go from, presumably a DB25 in the USB adaptor, to the 50 pin header on the drive.
Find a PCIe SCSI card. I looked, they are out there. Again, theres the need to find cables.
Get an old PC from the era of the drive. The cards will be cheap. You can get a network card and connect it to whatever you have today. That drive could be mounted internally via ribbon cable to an old PCI Adaptec card. You can reconnect with old operating systems like Windows 2000.
I had to do something similar when I needed to read an old 720kb floppy drive.

FCPX Probably won’t be able to capture using the Shuttle, but Blackmagic’s “Media Express” works fine, and is probably installed with the Shuttle software.
FCPX however, should be able to output through the Intensity Shuttle.

I took a look at the raw file. I think most of the problem is just the color aberration. Take a look at what I did in Photoshop. FILE
Just using the defringe reduced a lot of the color edges. I’m not sure how to do that in DaVinci. I suppose you could set up Photoshop to batch process. -
Where I work I upgraded a 2009 Mac Pro from 8 cores to 12. The chips are pretty cheap now.
The next step is to switch out the Radeon for a Nvidia GTX 1080. The editors are using Premiere, so that should improve things for them. The main goal was to get another year out of the machine and wait for whatever Apple has in the pipeline for the Mac Pro. -
On top of what Chris said about low pass filtering, you have two optical converters that are each adding a different chromatic aberration to the image. Maybe that’s messing with the debayering? Do you have a sample before the anamorphic de-squeeze?
