I basically said that “cellphone” CPUs are what are are in vogue now, and their development is bringing them very close to Intel’s desktop offerings. You are the one who said you would “complain” about them if offered in a Surface. You must have liked Surface RT.
Also, the ARM processor started out as a desktop CPU. ARM powered the Acorn Archimedes.

Usually ECC has a performance penalty for the increased protection against errors. Might be important if you live in higher elevations.

You speak derisively of “phone” CPUs, but they are on what much of the industry is focused right now. Intel sold off their ARM chip license and designs many years ago, and have recently reacquired an ARM license. It’s said that Intel has lost billions of dollars by not being in that space. Mobile is where the growth is.
