Ahhhh… I got tripped up by Sony’s rather puzzling product nomenclature. I was complaining about Movie Studio Platinum 13, not Vegas Pro 13. Oops! I’m glad you Vegas Pro users get the auto-ripple indicator, but it’s definitely missing for us lowly Movie Studio peeps.
(I should point out that I stumbled across this thread via a web search and didn’t realize it was a Pro 13 discussion!)

The auto-ripple is one of the most powerful tools available to a serious editor and I’m constantly turning it on and off based on the edit I’m making. I can’t believe Sony hid the indication as to whether it’s on or off! It is a seriously boneheaded design decision — especially when there’s acres of unused space to the side of the Config button that could be used for a simple visual indicator of auto-ripple’s status.
