Thanks for the input, I’ve managed to work it out.

For anybody looking to do the same I’ve applied a time-warp to the adjustment layer and by linking the ‘source frames’ to a slider controller it offsets the footage as desired,

Yep still images, I would rather do it through after effects if its possible, I’ve played around with displacement maps but cant quite get the amount of movement thats being achieved in the examples

Sorry never mind, 3D Stroke is the way to go

Right click the object in the object manager, then choose cinema 4d tags > composting tag. This tag has a check-box for seen by camera.
