  • Thanks for the heads-up, Sam. I had no idea about this screen-sharing security issue.

Are you suggesting that it’s safe to use Apples screensharing once safeguards are in place? If so, what specific safeguards to you suggest? If not, is there an inherently safe alternate screen-sharing tool out there you can recommend? I’m a Mac user, by the way. Thanks!

  • Hello Bill,

Thanks so much for taking the time to convey those helpful tips and approaches. Much appreciated!

I’m still left with questions I’d like to actually talk-through with someone, along with a missing project— but I trust that the answers will reveal themselves all in good time— they usually do.

    Thanks again,

    Scott

  • Thanks very much for responding with the suggested reading, Paul. I’ll have a look.

Thanks for your post Dominic. Much appreciated.

Another person also suggested I transcode, but using ClipWrap, which I did with great results in terms of video clarity. I didn’t end up with the beautiful color VLC offers, but that probably had more to do with how VLC plays-back video than anything else? In any event, I’m satisfied with the end result achieved using ClipWrap.

    Thanks again.

    Good thought, Don.

No, I never changed anything within the file structure of the suspect card. Still, I would compare the suspect card with a working card if I could, but I have since reformatted the suspect card, which is working normally again. All that remains from the copy of the suspect card I did have are the .MTS files.

By the way, Don— or anyone— can you suggest a tool I can use to convert these .MTS files (in a lossless way) so they become importable by FCPX?

    Thank you!

Paying it forward is a beautiful thing, indeed, Fabrizio.

Just wanted you to know that I did reformat the SD card that appeared to have failed and it seems OK now. You saved me a few bucks there. Nice! Thanks again!

Great idea to initialize and test the card before chucking it. I’ll do that.

Thanks so much for your time and coaching, Fabrizio. Happy New Year!

Thanks Tom. As you may have seen in my prior post to Fabrizio the problem appears to have been with my SD card.

If you have time, I’d value your response, also, to the two new questions I asked in my prior post to Fabrizio. Thank you!
