Thanks Kristian: while not the ideal solution, I might choose to use a switcher instead. Does the Intensity card accept input from an HDMI signal switch(er) such as:

    https://www.ramelectronics.net/html/HDMI-Switchers.html

If I switch the video source input (to the switcher) between the two HV20 cams will the final result (video captured thru the Intensity) be glitch free?

I’ve updated the website (https://www.islewhipyourgrass.com)and have a couple of questions.

The main jpeg image (hawaii_blu_bkd_jpeg)on the webpage appears to have severe compression artifacts that don’t appear on the html file viewed locally (dreamweaver preview in browser F12). What gives?

I got the rollover links all turning color (white) correctly, but they appear purple instead of green in their normal state. What color are they in your browser?

    Thanks so much for looking.

Thanks so much for your help. It’s nice to know its working, but it is not working in my browser. I’ve got all programs closed only the islewhipyourgrass website open. I even restarted my computer and opened the website…same result.

I replaced the code but that doesn’t seem to be working.

Just to restate my problem…I want the text links to change color when the mouse cursor passes over them (not when clicked on).

Box o’ cookies sounds pretty good but I don’t know the answer.
I also don’t know why AJA didn’t put an XLR DC power input port on this thing. It only draws 35 watts. Seems like it and a macbook could be lugged around to capture Prores from an HDV (or other) cam’s hd-sdi or HDMI.

September 25, 2007 at 7:49 pm in reply to: HDMI for Laptops?

[JerryW] “I have a friend who captures HDMI direct to a Sony notebook he paid $1,800 for.”

I had thought that the HDMI port on notebooks was output only, and that websites sometimes mistakenly refer to the HDMI port as an input or I/O port.

Can you give some details about how he does this?: What Sony notebook model, what NLE, capture settings, what codec he’s capturing with?

    Thanks!

I’ve also imported a .mov clip (2048x1024x24, h.264, progressive, square pixels) from the new RED cinema camera and am getting the same result…red bar on the timeline with black in the preview window.

For what it’s worth I rendered the clip as a .WMV and it plays on three different software media players…but only shows solid black or green screen .

    Ideas?

Yes I can capture m2t files in Vegas.

I’m trying to get Cineform after hearing that it holds up better to multiple layers and FX. For what its worth, I captured a few more CFHD.avi files but with the same result…they import o.k. but show as red on the timeline and blackness in the preview window. Also these CFHD.avi files actually import into Windows Movie Maker and ARE visible on the timeline and the preview window. However I don’t want to use Movie Maker. I even tried capturing m2t files in vegas THEN converting them to CFHD.AVI in Cineform HDLINK instead of letting Cineform do the capture AND conversion. But still same result.
