  • We have two adaptors. One is older and one is new and bought for this trip. We’ve gone through every permutation we can think of as far as restarting computer with adaptor in, restarting and then putting the adaptor in.

Is it possible that the 220 voltage down here went through the computer and fried our adaptors? Is there anything fryable inside the adaptor?

I should clarify that we are currently unable to get the computer to recognize the duel adaptor either.

    Hello Everyone,

I’m in Rwanda shooting a documentary with a Sony EX1 and a Panasonic HVX200. I’ve worked with both cameras quite a bit, but the laptop is a new purchase. I’m using the Duel Adaptor Card Reader and having serious problems. The first two cards we imported were a little temperamental, but worked OK. Unfortunately, now we are unable to get the Duel Adaptor to recognize the cards at all. For now we are using the camera to import the cards into the computer, but this is not a very realistic solution given our subject matter. We are shooting reconciliation meetings between perpetrators and victims of the ’94 genocide. The sessions go for hours on end, and losing a camera to import cards is really not an option.

I’ve combed the forums, but have had no luck yet. Here are a few of the things we have tried.

    1. Removed 2 Gigs of Ram (to avoid the 4 Gig RAM problem that Barry Green has posted about).
    2. Uninstalled SxS drivers
    3. Installed the latest E series P2 driver
    4. I have two Duel Adaptors so I know the problem is not with the adaptor itself.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

    Thank you,

    Scott

My computer setup is a 15″ MacBook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 Gigs of RAM. Mac OS 10.5.7 and FCP 6.0.6
