When I open this SGI sequence in QuickTime, the colors come through incorrectly and the picture itself is distorted. Any suggestions?

After running the AJA System test, the speed of the RAID in both directions is approximately 300 MB/s.

  • We’re talking about two different problems.

I’m not setting any out and in points at first – the audio is out-of-sync when I rip the entire DVD to a QuickTime file – before any editing whatsoever.

In my earlier posts – I was just mentioning yet another problem I was encountering with outputting files originally ripped from DVDs: the out and in points on exported files from Final Cut don’t match what the out and in points were on the Final Cut timeline. The audio stays in sync in this case.

  • I read through the MPEG Streamclip User’s Guide, and that didn’t solve any problems.

I did find a work around on my own though: if I export the DVD as a DV file instead of converting it to a QuickTime file, then the audio remains in sync.

One day, I’d like to know if there’s a way to export directly to a QuickTime file as this just adds another step in the process.

  • What are some of the settings you might suspect that I have wrong?

These DVDs are from overseas, so I’ve tried ripping to both PAL and NTSC.

I also have this problem with multiple systems at my facility.

If anyone learns of a fix, then please post it.
