Scott, Sorry for the delayed response. I found a few decent sounds but not anything I like. I would love to accept your offer for help.

October 14, 2009 at 2:21 pm in reply to: What is a “DBC”?

Mark, I thought of TBC also. It is in the context of “job duties”

The line is “know how to operate DBC, D5 & HDCam SR decks”

I am thinking it is Digital Beta Cam (ie DBC???)

Walter said “we run all AJA here”. I think he meant in his shop.

Martha, go to users-preferences-final cut pro user data. Copy those to something and drop them in the same directory on the new system. Launch FCP and your settings should appear.

[Shane Ross] “You can ATTACH via FireWire using that, but will you get the speed of SATA? No. Your bottleneck will be the FW port.”

Yeah, I’m aware of that. But for this project, after buying the Matrox and some software upgrades to have any kind of ROI I can’t invest in a CalDigit VR like I would want. I will be working only in DV for this project so I should be fine. I just happen to have 2Tb of available external SATA storage that I would like to use for the project.

David Heidelberger sent me off list an absolutely fantastic program called XML Analyzer which has worked out beyond my wildest expectations! Fantastic and has saved me hours of tedious work.

    Thanks David!!!

June 16, 2009 at 4:52 pm in reply to: QT db measurment?

What I have is 10 or so QT files I am going to have play back to back on a DVD. I have mixed in FCP to around -6 and to what sounds good to my ear. I want to know that one piece is not going to be substantially louder than another. So if I could get an average measurement (ie -6) I would have a secondary acknoledgment that they are in the same ball park. All together it is 5 1/2 hours of material and I just want them in the same ball park. We will have a proper mix done once we go to the finishing stage.
