I would say its somewhere between a handheld and full shoulder mount. hahaha.. It is pretty much just what you would expect. Not bad the way it is, might want to adapt for a complete over the shoulder mount

    Hey Gary,
We are getting the first shipment in the country in mid-July and will be selling them at the Sony MAP of $8320.

    Hey Ronn,
I don’t know if B&H will be able to do anything for you, but the main number for Sony service is 201-833-5300. They should be able to assist you further with the repair.

Really, all you need to do is send a proof of purchase to the San Jose service center with a note explaining the problem and your contact info, they will take care of the warranty issue.

    Their address is:
    3300 Zanker Rd
    San Jose, CA 95134

I have sent several defective EX-1s there and turn-around has been pretty quick

    Ben,
The color raster of the HD Cam is what Sony calls 16:9:9. If you take a live HD-SDI feed from from the EX-3, it will be 4:2:2, which is totally comparable. While i have heard of people having success doing greenscreen by recording to SxS at 4:2:0, of course it is better to use the HD-SDI to feed and record to an XDCam HD, HDCam, or DVCPRO HD deck. Or to use an HD-SDI capture card and go straight to a hard drive. You should have minimal problems with this setup.

Ooooh. Haha sorry but you didn’t mention that. As far as I know you will need to bring some sort of capture card along then. Didn’t mean to insult you, just didn’t realize your application.

Does your laptop have a USB port?
    Then what’s the problem?

Really? I’m looking at the manual right now and don’t see anything about it. That would be interesting though.
