So what ?
The question right now is how to feed REAL 4K into it.
So far I only saw Scratch doing that with a PLEX.A slice of color…

A decent SAN or NAS will deliver 1500 mb/s and will empower us with 4K playback speed.
I also trust in RED to deliver a proper projector that is much more hassle free than the Barco / Christie stuff.
And I have high hopes for Aja and other players to step up their game to 4K.

A great test is to try and make a neutral grade out of it.
While reverse engineering you will see many things that are not visible at first.
For example, I guess there is some green lifting applied, like a lens flare would do, the whole lower right part.
I kinda did the same tricks for “Beast” just that our tenor was purple and cream.

Just put it on the second track, change the compositing mode to add and fade it in.
Or use the output from the mixed as key signal for a node in which you boost luminosity.
I think the function in Aperture is called “Clarity”A slice of color…

You need a proper RGB signal, that’s the point.
On the other hand, using a proper CRT here on the SDI output shows me how greenish and flat the 27″ LED is.
I would not trust that for paid color work…no Sir.

I am just getting balls for now…nothing to map there and versatile for all sort of apps.
Transport is much faster with the pen anyway.
Knobs would be sweet but if you need the buttons to get to them…not so cool.
Question..
Will the knobs actually follow the interface ?
Lets say you select the keyer, will the knobs panel show those controls ?
Or pan and scan ?
I have no probs selecting them with the pen, but adjustments should be done without looking up and down.A slice of color…

We had the same experience with the OLED and sadly had to send em back.
The contrast and black level is unmatched.
The OLED is more black than any LCD being turned off 🙂
But with 20 degree left and right of the center , you have like 80cm in 1,5 m distance.
That is as close as being shoulder on shoulder.
Left from that it turns green, right from that it turns purple.
Not usable for more than one guy.
