Did you already trash your settings (like Walter decribed in one of the replies to my mail)? Because this was definitely part of the solution for me!
Hopefully it works for you as well…
Good luck.

January 26, 2008 at 2:29 am in reply to: videomaterial moving in different way (discontinuously) suddenlyHi,
the memory space left on my computer is 14,14 GB of the total 74 GB.
The external harddrive (LACIE) on which the project is situated has still 28 of 232 GB free space.
I though this was enough. Am I wrong? Thanks for your help!

ehm, what exactly is trashing your settings?
i returned to “easy setup” for the format i’m working in, but it didn’t change anything…
also i don’t think it has to do with the timeline not matching the footage, at least not in an obvious way… because before it worked fine (didn’t have to render) and now there’s no colored bars above the timeline neither and there’s no rendering needed…(could it be it has to do with a “timeline option” i was testing while editing, in “user preferences” “starting timecode:1:00:00;00 x drop frame? I changed it to 0:00:00, but it didn’t work because it only will work for timelines created after the settings are changed… but i just thought because of the “drop frame” mentioned behind the timecode setting in the preferences…?)

January 26, 2008 at 12:25 am in reply to: videomaterial moving in different way (discontinuously) suddenlyi just discovered that the clips in the browser now seem alright. just all the material in the timeline seems affected… i’ve created a new sequence and put a clip in it and as soon as it hits the timeline the problem arises… discontinuity in the movement… and visible horizontal lines…???
also: i don’t have an option for dynamic RT (only safe and unlimited)

January 25, 2008 at 11:59 pm in reply to: videomaterial moving in different way (discontinuously) suddenlyHi,
thanks you for your reply. This is good to know and I won’t act so careless anymore in the future…
anyway, now i changed the settings again (report on dropped frames), restarted FCP again but it’s still going on: the dicontinuity in the movement + also he doesn’t report dropped frames anymore…
one thing that assures me though: the original clips in Capture Scratch seem still intact…
Should I “re-connect” all the media or is there a better solution ? -
thanks!

hey rafael,
thanks. we were chacking this plug in and downloaded a trial version. the manual only refers to “pal dv to ntsc dv” conversion. since we’re working with partially animated footage, we want to avoid as much as possible to export in DV-format since it reduces severely the quality of the animation. do you know wether the full version of this nattress plug in provides more settings, including “animation”?
anyway, meanwhile we have been experimenting with after effects wich seems to give good results for all the”real” footage, but here too the animation is pretty poor quality. we are now considering doing the animation again seperately for NTSC, and do a litle reediting in FCP combining the converted stuff with the ‘new’ animation.
so thanx again, and more clues or hints always welcome
ciao

so it’s not recommended not even to store videoprojects because of this risk for dropped frames?
thx -
can it however be used to store video footage, without any problem?
thx
