August 18, 2017 at 9:09 am in reply to: Maintaining stroke widths within a 3d enabled precomp regardless of camera position.Hi David, thanks for getting back to me. I have explained some of the difficulties you mentioned above. I have now been provided with a reference which might help illustrate the desired result a little better. The following screenshots and gif are take from Buck’s Amp awards opening titles. As you can see the stroke width of the line art remains the same even when elements move towards or away from camera:

Thanks, here’s Dan’s expression:
nominalDist = 400;
d = length (thisComp.layer(“Camera 1”).toWorld([0,0,0]),toWorld(anchorPoint));
value*(d/nominalDist)(Set nominalDist to the distance where you want the stroke width to be the value you have it set to)

February 24, 2017 at 2:49 pm in reply to: Controlling how vertices animate when copying keyframes between pathsHi guys, I found another solution to the issue of controlling how vertices behave when animating paths without the use of a plugin (the bao plugin looks awesome but a bit of an investment at $149) so I just thought I’d post back here as I was unaware of this command and it may be helpful to others with the same query…
I found this tutorial about animating font weight using shape layers and he overcomes the weird vertices behaviour using the ‘set first vertex’ command (layer / mask and shape path / set first vertex) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ni24lqXRveU
Thanks again for all the responses!

There are occasions where controlling how the vertices behave when copying keyframes from one path to another would be useful however, is there a way of doing this?
Thanks!

Hi there, figured out the issue (and feel a bit thick!) This behaviour occurs when the puppet pins have the same name. You need to rename the puppet pins otherwise eveytime you create new bones they will overlap each other. I hope that helps!
