Can we do tomorrow 8am Tokyo time? That’s 6pm Houston time.

2pm Tokyo time is past midnight over here.

    What’s your email?

    Thanks

Thanks Bob! Although I’m not an active member on these forums, I’ve always valued your no BS approach and expertise. You’ve also provided some really good points that backup our selection.

Thank you sharing Walter! Ultimately the actual workflow and user experience is one of the most important factors, if not the most important, when selecting a shared storage system. Very much appreciated!

    Thanks Bob!
DDP was recommended by an IT preferred vendor.

Our top choice thus far is Terrablock. Great team at Facilis.

What are your thoughts on using existing FC infrastructure (4Gb) vs 10GbE over copper?

December 27, 2013 at 6:10 pm in reply to: Does anyone out there have a Proavio EB400CR?

Thank you Robert! I appreciate you taking the time in sharing this and running the test. Seems like we’re on a similar boat. I have a couple of old G-Speed eS (hosted by a RR2314) that I want to move away from, extremely slow and terrible customer service from G-Tech. I was looking into a SAS solution that I could later move into a thunderbolt chassis. I also have an LTO5 drive (SAS), seems like I’m going to need two cards, a simple HBA for the LTO drive and a RAID HBA for a SAS enclosure.

Were you able to hook up your LTO drive to the areca card?

    Thanks again!

    Hi Robert!

Did you end up getting the EB400CR? Looking for 6G speed ratings as well.

    Thanks!

    Hi Ron,

While booted off the old HD and the SSD in slot 4, launch System Profiler (/Applications/Utilities) and go to Hardware > Serial ATA section. Does the SSD drive show up?
