Seems as if the Avid was just being buggy. Photos that I had successfully imported before
wouldn’t import when I tried. But now after having the weekend off, the machine seems fine. And the dimensions that I got here worked. Thanks.

Thanks for the tips but I’m still not getting it. Now, I’m getting a message when I import
that says “the import could not be completed because the resulting file exceeds the maximum supported file size. ” I’ve got my photos at 72 dpi and am using the 853 x 486 pixel size, although I had tried the 1920 x 1080 and 960 x 540 as well. I’ve flattened the layers and made it a tiff and it says it is 1.3MB.
