I’m working at a G5 Mac (1.6 GHZ Power PC) with OS 10.4.3 and Avid Xpress 4.8.4.
I’ve got Quicktime 7.0 installed. This is the configuration that Avid tech support suggested
was best for the computer I’m using. I’ve been trying for the last few days to export
a 90 minute quicktime with no success. Using “export – Fast-Export Quicktime NTSC”
with no compression and keeping the image size the same, I get a movie on my desktop.
When I try to open it, I get an alert where it says “quicktime cannot open the file. It is not
a file that Quicktime understands (-2048). I looked this error up and I think it has to do with this being an MPEG 2 file? So does anyone know how do I get an uncompressed Quicktime movie using my setup? Thanks.

In the export settings, if you have ‘use enbled video tracks’ and ‘Use in to out’ checked, make sure you acutally have all your tracks selected, and an in to out. For simplicity, I uncheck those boxes.

If that fails, try doing a mixdown.
