No problem, Christopher – I was having nearly the same issue only I was coming from the opposite direction. I had tagged 3 days of videos and stills in Lightroom with keywords and was sorting them through Bridge when I realized that none of my metadata efforts were viewable in Premiere.

Adobe could have a bullet point feature that connects Premiere to Bridge to Lightroom if they only got their naming synced up across the various apps.

Not sure if this helps, but if you turn on the Subject Field of Dublin Core in Premiere’s Metadata Display menu, it maps directly to keywords. If you update a keyword in Bridge, it will pop up in Premiere.

Surprisingly, it will even allow you to generate brand new Bridge keywords directly in Premiere. I’m kind of astonished that Adobe would hide away this ability (and even having labels that don’t correspond to one another) but it’s a great way to start generating meaningful metadata that can be shared across the Adobe product line.

As soon as I wrote this out I had an idea: I doublechecked my framerates and my AE comp and the Premiere timelines didn’t match. As soon as I interpreted the AE comp to match the timeline, the footage popped back on and everything rendered correctly. I’m surprised that an update would break something like this, but at least there’s a workaround for now.

Thanks. Dave mentions that you get a real nice playback speed with Zi8 footage in an XDCAM EX timeline but I don’t get anything close after the first few seconds of playback. I’d assume my machine is underpowered for the task, except for the fact that the software bundled with the camera (Arcsoft Impressions)plays the footage back with no issue. There must be some optimizations that Adobe needs to do to get playback up and running.

Thanks Callum, pretty goofy of me not to realize this. I had to switch to Card Mode and turn off the audio levels display buried in the camera menu, then just hit the big DISPLAY button on the side of the camera. Genius. 🙂

I’ve been using Boomer Labs Max2AE plug-in recently and I’ve been stoked with the ease of use.

I was hoping that you could view a live feed in AE through this new feature. It would be cool to throw a quick Keylight on top of the feed to see if the lighting was working on a green screen capture. If not, I could always purchase Lenscare; has anybody tried it out?
