  • Jason,
I believe you are the winner. My ram was configured this way, Riser A: (2x 512mb)+(2x2gb), Riser B: (2x2gb)
    So I changed it around to Riser A (4x2gb), Riser B (2x512mb)

I’ve been working on it for about 8 or 9 hours since then and I haven’t had one crash. I’ve gotten the wheel of death, but it rights itself and fcp doesn’t crash. So I think Jason may have solved my problem.
    Thanks,
    Ryan

  • So I wanted to test out the idea that it may be a RAID issue. I had an identical copy of the project on a single internal drive. So I shut down turned off the RAID and left it off. I turned on my computer and started working from the project that was on that one internal drive in my mac and the same wheel of death problem just happened again. Wouldn’t that disqualify the RAID theory?

  • I re-installed completely, erasing everything that was on my system disk. Everything.

I used the Sphere filter to create a globe but it isn’t 3D (I did check the “3D group” option) When I rotate it is only 2 dimensions. I feel like I’m probably just forgetting to check a box somewhere or something.

I want to zoom in to specific countries. So I want to zoom in as much as I can. I’m working on a MacPro with eight 3.0 processors, 9gigs of ram, and a ATI Radeon X1900 XT graphics card. I have been having trouble finding a realistic map of the world that would work too. Any suggestions on where I can find a 8K by 8K map that I could use or at least license for a national broadcast?
