“Are you in the UK Adam? If so, you’ll need an additional safe area to protect 14:9 for broadcast in the UK..I’ve got one if you need it.”

Could I get this off you please…..?

    thanks very much

It’s going to be tranferred to digibeta (PAL).

4:2:2 10 bit uncompressed quicktime is what the transfer house have asked for.

That’s great – thanks very much for the help.

    Couple more questions….

You say it will look squashed… does this then correct itself when played out, say on DVD?
And how will it appear on a non-widescreen TV? Will I need to do another version to view as letter-box?

I’m getting it transferred to digibeta and the transfer house have asked for “4:2:2 10bit Quicktime with pixel aspect ratio 720 X 576”. Is 4:2:2 the same as the D1/DV PAL Widescreen in AE?

Would you recommend going through all the comps and resetting them to square pixels?

Again, thanks for the help and I’d appreciate any more advice.

    Thanks for that.

I’m still not sure why in AE the comp appears as 4:3 even when set to widescreen 16:9 with non-square pixels….? Is AE not able to display compositions in anything other than 4:3?
