Did you conform the clip down to 25fps or just slow it by 50%?

It actually just seemed to sort itself out. I didn’t drop any clips in to the area that i was trying to… i worked on another area for a while and then when i went back to it, it was fine.

    Very odd!

Ok I will try this and update you. Is this safe? Spent a lot of time on it and don’t want to lose it…. if I have to start again then so be it.

I had started with a 10 minute highlight clip that I had previously started and been added. Stuff to it and this is where the trouble started!

Would you suggest any other types of file? I’ve heard of DIVX and Mpeg-2….. are these more commonly supported?

Hahaha i know, the cheek of their guests!

So the only thing i can do is really just give them the DVD (and it’ll be SD but they should be aware of that) and if they want to view it in HD will just have to watch it on a computer using the USB stick, or watch it on a TV with a USB port?

Am i right in thinking the MP4 will play through USB on the TV?

Thanks Jim, i couldn’t get them to work but i ended up getting XDcam transfer working. I had to open the disk image, right click the .pkg file and open the contents. I then installed xdcamtransfer.pkg and it works fine now!

It’s strange that i couldn’t get the files to work, seems most are saying they’re native to fcpx!

Cheers for the replies, i actually managed to sort it and i will explain for other users.

I’m using mac os 10.6.8 and basically it appears sony have stopped making xdcam transfer compatible with newer versions of mac os.

I couldn’t get the sony footage to work, it was just a green file. Mpeg streamclip wouldn’t even recognise it.

To get sony xdcam transfer to work, i opened the disk image, right clicked on the pkg and opened the contents of the package. I then clicked on xdcam transfer.pkg and it installed it.

Hope this thread helps anyone else having similar problems!

I don’t have to, it’s jus what i usually edit in.

Ok so i’m going 25fps, that’s fine. I’m just not that savvy with frame rates etc!

    Cheers for the help 🙂
