thanks for posting about the LOCK TO STRETCH thing..
Ive been looking on google for AGES how to NOT preserve the damn pitch when doing a funny fast forward compilation but all the noobs on the internet ask how to preserve pitch when its already preserved by default.

    so thanks for that

    cheers

Anyway my problem is i have this file.. and since i could’nt open it as div-x i converted it to uncompressed avi so i dont loose any more quality from several recompressions.. and now instead of a 100 mb file i have this 9gb file and my hard drive is’nt to pleased about it.. but im sure you’re familiar with this..

Anyways I wanted to render the file to something reasonable in size, first i rendered with default ntsc dv codec but its 1gb (for 4 minutes).. so i wanted to configure the compression but only codec that allows me to do that is Microsoft Video 1..

ok so what you are saying is i should download the codec and install it myself.. fair enough.. i went to divx website, installed divx pro and still same problem.. i cant render as divx and i cant even load divx..

On the other hand, what im suggesting is you include the compatible codec (x86 or x64) on install even optionally so i dont have to search a week for a solution.

Also you mention H264 and web compatibility, yes H264 is new and awesome but what if i dont publish my movies on the web, 80% of dvd players here in romania dont support this codec because the old divx format is default.
