Dave-thanks!! That is exactly the simple solution I was looking for–forgot about the “paste attributes” thing. Really appreciate your response.

Thanks a lot Willie. I used both your suggestions and it really “fattened” up the sound nicely, particularly the hard limiting. The only time I’d used hard limiting before was to deal with clipping–didn’t realize it could fatten the sound like that. Very cool-

August 26, 2005 at 5:51 pm in reply to: newbie question

I think I’m phrasing my question incorrectly. My question actually is a) why is clipping occurring after only a few loops have been laid down in tracks, and, b) what’s the best way to deal with it?

    thanks-

Thanks Willie! But, I’m not sure I understand your answer. Should I attend to the volume indicator and adjust the individual tracks in the Multitrack tab to get rid of the clipping or attend to the clipping in a different way (for ex: mixing down to one track and then adjusting)?

    Thanks!

August 25, 2005 at 5:23 pm in reply to: help figuring out why the white balance seems off

No–no windows in the room at all–I had total control. I’m wondering if perhaps I accidentally had the camera mode set at “auto” instead of “manual” even though I set the focus on manual and I was manually white balancing. If that is the default, perhaps, maybe that would screw with the white balance? Any thoughts?

Thanks so much! You’d think they’d make it a bit more obvious. I really appreciate the tip.

August 11, 2005 at 7:41 pm in reply to: XP Service Pack 2 compatibility issues?

Got it, thanks. So, if you’re using firewire to capture–is there a capture “card” that may or may not be incompatible with SP2, or is the firewire itself the capture card? If there is an additional “card” how do you find out what you have so you can check for compatibility?

    thanks-

Thanks for the reponse. Forgive my ignorance, but a capture card is different than a vid card, right? For capture, I’m using Firewire, but is there also a capture card? And, if so, how would I find out what that is, in terms of compatibility issues.

My vid card is Radeon 9200 series.
    thanks-
