I’ve been avoiding updating my XP Professional OS to Service Pack 2 because I’ve heard murmurings about compatibility problems with PPro and other software I use like AE. Anyone out there know the details about this? Updating video card drivers and such requires SP2, so I’m wondering if I should bite the bullet, or continue to hold off. Thanks for any help-

SP2 was an issue last year. A couple of patches came out, that corrects the problems. I no longer see any posts regarding SP2 problems on the boards now.

SP2 is almost essential now, drivers, plug-ins etc. as well as PremPro 1.5.1
We’ve put it across five machines without hassle, however –
We used the Microsoft CD and NOT the download and 3 of the machines were new SP1 installs then SP2 (not upgrades). In this country you can get a free SP2 CD from just about any PC reseller.
