    Hello!

    Sadly, this is a known bug that has been around FOREVER. Here are some links that talk about it. The main consensus is that you can either shift the gamma before you compress it to offset the h264 shift, or there are some tweaks you can do to the converted file to make it appear correctly. Lastly, some people have had luck with the x264 codec. It is free.

    Hi Hawk,

    My first thought is to try to import your fcp project into premiere, then save as a premiere file, and import into ae.

    This is why automatic duck exists, but it is definitely not free.

    Could you just export lossless from fcp? I think that you are going to have to spend money if you want to maintain your edits in AE, and even then I can’t think of a good way to get it back into fcp intact.

    If all else fails, then exporting to pro res will get you there.
