I gave you suggestions. Can you access the drive from windows? Does it show files? Can you play the DVD with DVD software like WinDVD? If Windows can’t access the DVD, Vegas will never be able to. You need to determine if there is a problem with Windows and the DVD drive first since we don’t know the extent of the damage that your friend cause to the PC.

I apologize for not writing what I was thinking!

I can access the drive from windows. It showes files. I can play the disc with a media player. It seems to function perfectly fine when I ask the computer to work with the DVD – It only gives the error message when I ask Vegas to import it.
And when I asked it to import the disc a few days ago, there was no error message at all!
