I finally did get it to work.

I read Mike Kujbida’s long, but useful, post here. It’s the second entry in the thread.

    That worked.

When you say “original,” do you mean the original footage, before ANY rendering has taken place?

Someone else edited it, and I’m sure it wasn’t in Vegas, so an edited version saved out as DNxHD. Would that work?

Or is there a better workflow?

    Thanks.

I noticed the Download button, so they must have given permissions to do so.

The only reason why I posted originally was because I was reading on that forum and thought that it was strange that people were saying that SVP was lacking.

To me, it seems like a great program. Of course there could be improvements. That’s so with any program.

But I love SVP and it works for me. I was just curious as to what others would think of those posts from the Cinema5D website.

Lots have responded and they have been helpful.

BTW: have you, by chance, had an opportunity to add the enhancements to the TimeWarp plugin?

Does Vegas not do well with 4K footage at this point?

    What about version 13?

Actually, when I mentioned the “big boys,” I was referring to the “big” editing tools: Avid, Premiere, FCP.

    John:

I did that and it worked!

My question is, the original footage on the timeline was 29.970fps progressive. But when I burned to DVD from the timeline from the Tools menu, the option it gave for DVD was 60i. Why is that?

Can you only burn progressive to Blu-Ray?

    Thanks.

Now, if I just want to have a plain, simple DVD, no menus, just the audio and video on the DVD so that when I insert the DVD into the player, it simply plays.

    How do I do that?

    That’s it!

    Thanks for your reply, Doug!

I changed the size in the Project Properties to 720×480 and then simply chose the NTSC 720×480 template in the Render As dialog box and it rendered!

    Thanks.

Now, why is that? Is it just a limitation, kinda like the you-shouldn’t-go-over 8,000,000 CBR?

Now my question is, I need to render out the audio. I think the preferable format is AC-3? I need to render it with the same name as the video, correct?

Now, all I want is to burn the video and audio on a DVD. Simple. No menus. I just want to put the DVD in a player and press Play and have it play.

What’s the best and simplest way to accomplish that?

    Steve:

No. I just rendered out a project a couple of weeks ago. It was a project I shot and edited and I rendered it out to .MP4 format for the web. It worked fine.

I also tried bringing in a whole new video and rendering it out to MPEG-2 format and I received the same error.
